Van & Sprinter Power Systems
Van & Sprinter Power Systems
Everything you need to power your van build β from a weekend-ready 100Ah setup to a full-timerβs 400Ah Victron system with alternator charging and remote monitoring.
Choose Your Build Tier
Pick the build that matches how you use your van. All three use Victron components β the difference is capacity, runtime, and redundancy.

Key Victron Components
We spec Victron Energy for every van build. Their components integrate over Bluetooth and VE.Direct, giving you full system visibility from one app.
MPPT Solar Charge Controller
Bluetooth-enabled, auto-voltage detect (12V/24V). The 100/30 handles up to 400W of panels on a 12V system.
Inverter / Charger
3000W continuous, 5500W peak. Built-in AC charger means shore power at a campsite tops up your batteries automatically.
DC-DC Alternator Charger
Isolates your van battery from the starter battery. Charges at up to 30A while driving β critical for lithium on smart alternators.
Battery Monitor
Tracks state of charge, current, voltage, and power in/out. Pairs with the Victron Connect app over Bluetooth.
System Hub + Remote Monitoring
Ties all Victron components together. Monitor and control your entire system remotely from your phone, anywhere in the world.
LiFePO4 Batteries
We recommend quality LiFePO4 cells (Battle Born, Epoch, or Victron Smart batteries) paired with Victron monitoring. 2000+ cycles, no memory effect.
Size Your System
Donβt guess your power needs β run the numbers first. Start with the load audit, then battery sizing, then solar.
System Load Audit
Enter your fridge, lights, laptop, fan, and other loads β get your daily Wh total and peak draw.
Battery Bank Sizing
How many amp-hours do you actually need? Enter your load total and autonomy days to find out.
Solar & MPPT Sizing
Input your panel wattage and battery voltage to pick the right SmartSolar MPPT and estimate daily production.
DC Wire Sizing
Get the correct AWG cable gauge for every run in your van β battery to inverter, MPPT to battery, and more.
Van Build Pro Tips
Lessons from dozens of van builds β the things that save you from expensive mistakes later.
π Always Use a DC-DC Charger
Modern vans with smart alternators (Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter) wonβt properly charge a lithium battery without a DC-DC isolator like the Victron Orion-Tr Smart. A simple split-charge relay isnβt enough.
βοΈ Slim Panels on High-Profile Vans
For Sprinter and Transit high-roofs, use low-profile flexible or semi-flexible panels to stay within height limits. 100W slim panels can be tiled efficiently across most van roofs.
π Oversize Your Battery Bank
Most van builders wish theyβd started with more storage. If youβre planning 100Ah, go 200Ah. LiFePO4 can be discharged to 80% DOD, so usable capacity is less than the nameplate spec.
β‘ Right-Size Your Inverter
A MultiPlus-II 12/3000 handles almost any van load. Donβt oversize to 5000W unless you have 400Ah+ of battery β a large inverter will pull down your batteries fast at peak draw.
π Fuse Everything Near the Battery
Every positive cable leaving the battery needs a fuse or breaker within 18 inches of the terminal. For the main cable to your inverter, use a Class T or ANL fuse sized to the cable β not the inverter draw.
π‘ Install VRM From Day One
The Victron Cerbo GX + VRM portal lets you check your system state remotely, spot issues before they become problems, and is invaluable if anything goes wrong while traveling.
