Microgrid Systems
Jonsson Tech is expanding into microgrid power solutions, built on Victron Energy's proven inverter/charger and monitoring technology.
A microgrid links multiple independent power banks — each with its own Victron inverter/charger, battery, GX monitoring device, and charge source (solar, generator, or AC) — onto a single shared AC circuit. The result is a combined power system that's more resilient and more scalable than any single unit alone: if one power bank needs maintenance or goes offline, the rest keep the load running.
Why it matters:
- Scalability — Add power banks as demand grows instead of oversizing a single system upfront.
- Resilience — Each power bank operates independently, so a fault in one doesn't take down the whole system.
- Flexible charge sources — Combine solar, generator, and AC charging across different power banks in the same microgrid.
- Built on proven hardware — Compatible with Victron's MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, and Quattro inverter/charger families, monitored through a Victron GX device.
Where microgrids fit:
Off-grid communities and remote sites, multi-unit RV or fleet operations, commercial and residential backup power, and agricultural or disaster-relief power. Microgrids are also a strong fit for critical, always-on applications — data centers that can't tolerate downtime, communication towers that need resilient power to stay connected, senior living and old age homes where backup power is a safety requirement, and military operations requiring dependable, distributed power in the field. Anywhere a single power system isn't enough, or reliability can't depend on one point of failure, a microgrid is worth considering.
Proper installation matters: overcurrent protection is required on every circuit, and touch-safe connectors are strongly recommended given how microgrid-configured inverters behave differently from a standard setup.
