Cerbo GX & Monitoring Setup
Follow these steps to get your Cerbo GX online, connected to all your Victron devices, and visible on VRM from anywhere.
Mount & Power the Cerbo GX
Mount the Cerbo GX in a dry, ventilated location. Connect the supplied power cable to a 12–70V DC source (typically your battery bus or a switched fuse). The Cerbo powers up as soon as DC is applied — no on/off switch.
Connect Your Victron Devices
Use VE.Direct cables (included with most Victron products) to connect your MPPT, SmartShunt, and Battery Protect to the Cerbo’s VE.Direct ports. Connect your MultiPlus or Quattro via the VE.Bus port (RJ45 cable, Cat5).
Connect to the Internet
For the best experience, connect an Ethernet cable from the Cerbo GX to your router. Alternatively, plug a compatible USB WiFi adapter into one of the Cerbo’s USB ports and configure WiFi in the settings menu.
Set Up VRM Remote Monitoring
VRM lets you monitor your system from anywhere in the world — battery state, solar production, AC load, generator status — all on your phone or computer.
Configure ESS or Off-Grid Mode
Open the Cerbo’s touchscreen menu (or connect via VRM) and navigate to Settings → ESS to configure how your system manages the grid relationship. For off-grid systems, set the generator auto-start thresholds under Settings → Generator.
Attach a GX Touch 50 (Optional)
If you ordered a GX Touch 50, connect it to the Cerbo GX using the supplied HDMI and USB cables. The display powers on automatically and mirrors the Cerbo’s touchscreen interface. Mount it wherever you’ll naturally glance to check system status.
