The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/15 is the higher-voltage sibling of the popular 75/15 controller — same 15A of charge current, but with 100V max PV input instead of 75V. The extra voltage headroom is what you want for cold-climate installs (where panel Voc spikes), longer panel strings, or higher-voltage panels. 12V or 24V battery banks, auto-detected on startup. Built-in Bluetooth via VictronConnect.

Maximum PV open-circuit voltage: 100V. The extra headroom over the 75/15 lets you safely run higher-Voc panels or two panels in series without worrying about cold-weather voltage spike.

Rule of thumb: if you live somewhere that gets below freezing, or you might add a second panel in series later, the 100/15 is worth the extra $12. Otherwise the 75/15 is fine.
When to choose the 100/15
- Cold climate installs — panel Voc rises in cold weather (1.25× for sub-freezing). A 22V Voc panel can hit 28V at -40°F; two in series hits 56V — still safe on the 100/15, marginal on the 75/15.
- Two panels in series — most 36-cell or 60-cell residential panels in series need 100V headroom.
- Higher-Voc residential panels — 60-cell or 72-cell house panels with Voc above 35V.
- Single panel up to 200W on 12V — same array capacity as the 75/15, just with safer headroom.
- 24V systems with up to 430W — 2-panel series strings on a 24V bank.
