The Victron SmartShunt 300A IP65 is the compact, waterproof battery monitor — sized for smaller 12V systems but built into a sealed enclosure that survives engine rooms, exterior battery compartments, and outdoor solar combiner boxes. Same Victron measurement firmware and same ±0.4% accuracy as the larger shunts, in the smallest, cheapest sealed package Victron makes.

Victron prices IP65 and IP21 the same on the 300A. If there's any chance the shunt will see moisture, dust, or salt air, choose the IP65 — there's no cost penalty.

The shunt has to handle peak current — usually driven by your inverter on discharge.
