The Victron SmartShunt 2000A is the high-current battery monitor for serious systems — large off-grid solar installs, big lithium house banks, multi-Quattro setups, and any system where peak current can exceed 500A. Same Victron measurement firmware as the smaller SmartShunts in a heavy-duty shunt rated for four times the current. Works on any 12V, 24V, or 48V system between 6.5V and 70V.
No display — your phone is the screen via Bluetooth and the free VictronConnect app. Real-time state-of-charge, voltage, current, power, time-remaining, and 30 days of historical trend data.
When to choose the 2000A shunt
- Large 48V off-grid systems — a 5kW inverter at 48V draws ~104A continuous and ~210A surge. Add solar charging and DC loads, and you can clip 500A easily on a high-capacity system.
- Big lithium house banks — 600Ah+ lithium banks routinely accept and deliver high current. The 2000A shunt provides headroom and accurate readings at the high end of the scale.
- Multi-Quattro / parallel MultiPlus setups — two or three parallel inverter/chargers can draw well over 500A momentarily at 12V or 24V.
- Industrial / telecom backup — large UPS-style 48V systems.
- Catamarans / large yachts — high-capacity house banks with bow thrusters and electric winches.
- If you're unsure, oversize the shunt — a too-small shunt limits future system expansion. The 2000A has the same accuracy as the smaller versions; the only trade-off is price.
Why the SmartShunt 2000A
- 4× the current capacity of the SmartShunt 500A — same accuracy, same firmware, just a much beefier shunt and busbar.
- Bluetooth built-in — pair directly with VictronConnect on iPhone or Android.
- True state-of-charge — counts every amp in and out for fuel-gauge accuracy on lithium, AGM, and lead-acid banks.
- VE.Direct port — plug into a Cerbo GX for VRM Portal integration and remote monitoring.
- Programmable auxiliary input — temperature, midpoint voltage, or second battery monitoring.
- Massive M10 / M12 stud terminals — built to handle the heavy-gauge cable required for high-current systems.
What's in the box
- SmartShunt 2000A / 50mV precision shunt with built-in electronics and Bluetooth
