The Victron SmartShunt 1000A IP65 combines high-current capacity with a sealed enclosure — sized for 24V and 48V systems with big inverters, in a dust-tight enclosure rated against water spray. Same Victron measurement firmware as the smaller SmartShunts; same 1000A capacity as the standard IP21 version; sealed for marine engine rooms, outdoor solar combiner boxes, and any install where standard electronics can't safely live.

IP65 vs standard SmartShunt 1000A — which one?

For the 1000A model, Victron prices IP65 and IP21 the same. If you have any doubt about the install environment, choose IP65 — there's no cost penalty.
