The Victron Quattro-II 12/3000/120-50/50 2x120V is a MultiPlus-II with a second AC input — same 3000VA pure sine output, same 120A charger, same split-phase 2x120V output, but with TWO independent AC inputs that the system intelligently switches between. The right pick when you have both shore power AND a generator, or when you want automatic source selection between two power sources.
Why Quattro instead of MultiPlus?
- Two AC inputs — shore power on one input, generator on the other; system auto-selects based on which is available and configured priority
- No external transfer switch needed — the Quattro handles the shore/generator selection internally
- Saves install complexity — one box instead of inverter/charger + external transfer switch

Typical setup
The classic Quattro use case: a boat at the dock plugged into shore power, but with an onboard generator. When shore is available, the Quattro uses shore. When the boat leaves the dock, shore disconnects and the Quattro switches to generator without any human intervention. When the generator stops, the Quattro reverts to inverter mode using the battery bank.
