The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/500 120V VE.Direct NEMA 5-15R is the right-sized step up from the 250VA — 500VA output (400W continuous), 12V input, standard NEMA 5-15R outlet (no GFCI), pure sine wave. The right pick for small RVs, modest backup needs, and any application where you want clean AC but don't need the GFCI-protected outlet.

NEMA 5-15R vs NEMA GFCI — which one?

  • NEMA 5-15R (this model) — standard household-style outlet. Use indoors, in dry locations. Cheaper.
  • NEMA GFCI — outlet with built-in ground-fault protection. Required by code for damp locations (kitchens, bathrooms, exterior). UL 458 certified for marine use.

If you don't know which you need, the GFCI version is safer for almost any install. If you're hardwiring the inverter to an existing GFCI-protected circuit downstream, the 5-15R version saves cost.
