The Victron Lithium SuperPack 12.8V/60Ah is a true drop-in replacement for a 12V lead-acid battery — a complete LiFePO4 battery with built-in BMS, low-temperature protection, and standard terminal connections. No external BMS to install, no charger settings to change for basic compatibility, no system architecture redesign required.
What "drop-in" actually means
The SuperPack series is unique in the Victron lineup because the BMS is fully integrated and the battery handles its own safety protection. This means:
- Works with your existing lead-acid charger — most lead-acid AGM charger profiles charge LiFePO4 safely (set to AGM profile if your charger has it)
- No external BMS wiring — just bolt on the cables and go
- Standard M6 terminals — same connector type as most lead-acid batteries
- Same form factor as Group 24 lead-acid — fits in most existing battery boxes
- Plug-and-play replacement for a flooded or AGM 80–100Ah battery — lithium delivers 60Ah usable vs ~50Ah usable on a 100Ah lead-acid
Lithium SuperPack vs Smart LiFePO4 — which one?
| SuperPack (this product) | Smart LiFePO4 with external BMS | |
|---|---|---|
| BMS | Built-in | External (Smart BMS required) |
| Installation complexity | Drop-in, standard terminals | Requires BMS install, cables, configuration |
| Bluetooth monitoring | No (no app) | Yes (VictronConnect) |
| Cell-level monitoring | No | Yes |
| Charger flexibility | Works with most lead-acid chargers | Requires VE.Bus charger |
| Best for | Simple drop-in upgrades, RV/marine retrofit | New builds, off-grid systems, monitored installs |
Choose SuperPack if: you want to replace a lead-acid battery with minimum installation effort. Common upgrade path for older RVs and boats.
Choose Smart LiFePO4 if: you're building a new system with Victron MultiPlus/Quattro inverter/chargers and want full system integration.
Why the Lithium SuperPack 60Ah
- 60Ah usable capacity — equivalent to ~100–120Ah lead-acid usable capacity
- Built-in BMS — cell balancing, overcharge protection, over-discharge protection, over-current protection
- Low-temperature charge cutoff — prevents damaging the cells in cold weather
- ~3000–5000 cycle life — vs ~500–1000 for lead-acid AGM
- ~7 kg (15 lb) — less than half the weight of a comparable lead-acid
- M6 threaded terminals — standard for retrofits
- Compact form factor — fits in standard battery boxes
- 2-year warranty
