The Victron MultiPlus-II 48/5000 is the high-output single-unit 48V residential ESS inverter/charger — 5000VA of pure sine inverter output (4000W continuous), large multi-stage battery charger, 50A AC transfer switch, ESS-capable.
This is the UL 1741 & UL 458 certified version (PMP482505120). Choose it when the install is permitted and grid-interactive, when the authority having jurisdiction requires listed equipment, or when UL 458 is specified for marine and mobile work. Electrically and functionally it is the same unit as the standard PMP482505110 — the difference is the certification, and the paperwork that goes with it. If you are not sure which one your install needs, call us before you order and we will work it out with you.

Choose 48/5000 if: you want simpler wiring, you don't need redundancy, and you have a single mechanical room location.
Choose 2× parallel if: redundancy matters (commercial backup, remote off-grid), you want headroom for future expansion to 3× = 7200W.
