The Victron Isolation Transformer 4500W Auto 115/230V completely separates your boat or RV from shore power. Shore power feeds the transformer's primary side and your vessel runs from the secondary, so there is no electrical connection to the shore ground. That stops galvanic corrosion from the shore connection eating your anodes, shaft and propeller, while keeping your GFCIs and breakers working as they should.
It removes the need for a galvanic isolator and a polarity alarm, and it is the safer alternative to disconnecting the shore ground.
Key features
- Automatic input voltage detection: switches to 115V mode for 88–130V input and to 230V mode for 185–250V input.
- Voltage conversion: can be configured as 115V→120V, 230V→240V, 115V→240V or 230V→120V. Useful for running a North American boat on a European shore supply, or the reverse.
- 1:1.05 ratio: boosts the output by 5% to make up for the voltage drop that's common on marina shore power.
- Soft start: an inrush current limiter stops the shore power breaker from tripping when the transformer switches on.
- Toroidal transformer: lower noise and lower weight than a conventional laminated core.
- Temperature-controlled fan with overtemperature shutdown.
- Works on 50Hz or 60Hz. Note that it does not convert frequency.
